Dr Klein and staff were excellent
I was definitely nervous to have my wisdom teeth pulled, i get queazy in those situations and I hardly ever write reviews but with the great experience I had I felt compelled to share. First, Dr. Klein was a true gentleman and took his time to explain the procedure and what to expect and was able to get me comfortable which was a big feat in itself. The procedure went very smoothly. After the procedure his team took great care to attend to me in a very comfortable post op room. I didn’t feel anything during the procedure and Dr Klein took his time again to explain the expectations post procedure. Two days later I called to ask a question and they were extremely prompt to return my call and help me out. The recovery was exactly as they described and follow up was a breeze. Dr Klein was excellent as was his friendly and accommodating staff. I highly recommend Dr Klein & Grand Central Oral – he was excellent!

GREAT ORAL SURGEON!
I’ve been putting off having my wisdom teeth pulled out until it started bothering me. All four have broken through the gum line and food keeps getting stuck in between them, and also two have gotten cavities. I’ve decided to get them all out at the same time so my best option was to go to an oral surgeon because my regular dentist can only work on my two upper wisdom teeth. I’ve read all of Dr. Klein’s reviews and they’re all pretty much on target. I opted to be asleep through the whole thing, and expected a painful recovery but believe it or not, I have none. Aside from the normal swelling of my cheeks and some soreness, the pain level from 1-10, (10 being most painful), I’d have to say its 3. He’s either a miracle worker or I just lucked out. Im writing this on the 3rd day after surgery and i’m already eating normal food. With careful chewing of course. My first initial consult with Dr. Klein, he took the time to run over the billing with me. Because of some negative reviews about the billing problems, I just made sure to run all the billing a week before my tooth extraction, i called my insurance to see if they will cover what is supposed to be covered, and I called Dr. Klein’s office again and asked what is to be paid out of pocket. Overall, I’m super happy with the results and I would definitely go back if I ever need to again.

The Best Dentist EVER!
Dr. Klein was referred to me by my regular dentist, Stewart Lantner (btw is also another FANTASTIC dentist if your looking for one- located at 200 west 57th street, 8th floor) when I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled out. He was very friendly, very patient, and explained in detail the procedure. Even on the day of the surgery, he went through everything again and put my mind at ease. I wasn’t in as much pain as I thought I would be. I highly recommend Dr. Klein!
- Pros: Very gentle, patient, sense of humor
- Cons: None

Best oral surgeon. Only regret is not going to him for previous work. Had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and you couldn’t even tell. HIGHLY recommend him. Very friendly, and thorough. Goes through the procedure with you and is a very good communicator. His work ethic is amazing. Hand down the best.
There is no pain or swelling. Just typical post op things (little bleeding but nothing crazy) Pros: Cute receptionist Cons: I didn’t get her number.

best dentist i ever had
I really hate going to the dentist but I was referred to Dr. Klein to remove my wisdom teeth. The procedure was completely painless! When I went home I wasn’t even sore and the novocaine wore away without pain. He was very nice and very professional. After 2 days I’m even eating real food without much pain, even though that’s probably not a very good idea. I highly recommend Dr. Klein

Professional and reassuring oral surgeon
I had a complicated oral surgery done, and Dr.Klein performed it without pain and easing my nervousness. Highly HIGHLY recommended. Felt little to no pain after surgery and as promised, have no recollection of the surgery itself.
- Pros: Clean professional office. The staff is so friendly and they actually recall your name.
- Cons: Can’t think of any. And this is from a person who HATES the dentist!

Wow! I just came home from Dr. Stephen Klein’s office at GCOMS and I was shocked at how amazing and easy my surgery was. I didn’t have to wait long in the waiting room because the nice front desk girl took my cell phone number before hand and she called me to tell me exactly when i should come in. He made me feel really comfortable, especially because i was so nervous about having to go to sleep. I shouldn’t have been. They worked out a payment plan for me and everything!! i would highly recommend Dr. Klein if you have to have anything done oral surgery wise.

Dr. Klein’s the best. Best oral surgeon in NYC. He has a wonderful bedside manner and left me with very little soreness from a procedure he performed. I highly recommend him.

Excellent doctor!!! Dr Klein removed my wisdom teeth on both sides, all four of them in a few weeks’ interval. For the first two, he explained the procedure in detail making sure I understood all aspects. When I woke up from the anesthesia I felt like he had just started, I didn’t feel anything during the operation. Wisdom teeth removal is a very delicate procedure and might bring some complications. But after having gone twice to him, I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is an excellent doctor!!! The best oral surgeon!!!!

I was told by my boss at an MRI co that Dr. Klein was fantastic. Although I live in long island, I decided to go out of my way to get 2 molars removed, 2 wisdom teeth and a manipulation of my jaw (for chronic TMJ) & venture into the city for my surgery. Dr Klein and his staff were caring, comforting and did an excellent job. They make you feel so welcomed and went above and beyond to maintain my emotional and physical comfort. I would recommend Dr. Klein to all of my family members!! But one problem I did have was that when the anesthesia wore off I was sitting in traffic on my way back to long island w/o pain meds!! They did send me on my way with an 800mg Motrin. But a few hours later u start to really feel the pain. So if u travel far to see him, stop at a pharmacy before leaving the city.

I’m a big baby when it comes to needles and especially DENTISTS! But Dr. Klein was cool. He explained the procedure and put me at ease. I didn’t feel a thing…and I was back to work the next day no problem. His office is really cool and modern too.

I had putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for years. They never really bothered me until recently and my dentist suggested I see Dr. Klein of Grand Central OMS for a consultation. He showed me the x-ray and I could see for myself that all 4 of my wisdom teeth were compacted and sooner or later they would need to come out. Dr. Klein explained every detail of the surgery to me, right down to the billing and what I would be charged. I came in about 3 weeks later and had them removed with general anesthesia. Dr. Klein has great bedside manner and always makes sure the patient is comfortable. I loved that they had classic rock playing in the operating room, not your usual music or light FM. I feel pretty good after the surgery considering. My only gripe with Grand Central OMS is the way they take care of the logistical things. It wasn’t until after my surgery that I checked out with billing and my prescription was called into my pharmacy. Having gauze in my mouth and being half asleep, dealing with the billing was not fun and I don’t understand why they don’t take care of this before the patient goes in for surgery. Also, I was told they have payment plans (my insurance only covered half of the cost) and was expecting some flexibility with this but there wasn’t and I was told what I would have to pay each month and there was no chance of that amount being lowered. I’m glad they have the payment plans but I just wish they would be a little more flexible with it. All in all, I highly recommend Dr. Klein of Grand Central OMS if you need to go through oral surgery.

Let me first say I HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST – I’VE HAD TOO MANY HORRIBLE SITUATIONS AND WOULD TRY TO AVOID IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. HOWEVER I joined yelp today just so I could give this review – that’s how wonderful my experience was. People, i just had oral surgery YESTERDAY and I feel great TODAY!!! I needed to have a severely impacted wisdom tooth and a tooth directly in front of it removed.I went to Grand Central Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, New York, NY and met Dr. Klein who went over my panoramic x-rays and explained what needed to take place. He listened to my concerns and gave me all the information I needed including an estimate of how much I would have to pay out of pocket since my insurance wouldn’t cover the ONE THING I HAD TO HAVE which was general anesthesia. He took his time with me, had a great sense of humor, LISTENED and answered all my questions. He even explained that I would wake up asking “if we started yet” as the “going under part” would be similar to a “twilight” and most importantly that due to the anti swelling medication that I would be given through the IV I would not be in as much pain and would heal quicker. He was right on EVERY COUNT! I feel great for someone who just had surgery. I did not feel a thing except the feeling of hands in my mouth for a moment in the beginning but absolutely NO PAIN, NEEDLES, TUGGING OR PRESSURE OF ANY KIND. DID I SAY NO PAIN???? NO PAIN PEOPLE – NO PAIN!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND DR. KLEIN. HE is GREAT and so is his staff from the nurses/assistants and front desk personnel; everyone is pleasant, patient, courteous and knowledgable. This experience has restored my faith in dentists. By the way (since I do notice everything) the office is great also, nice colors, welcoming.

I am sitting in recovery right now having had 3 wisdom teeth extracted. I had complicated teeth very close to the nerves Making the prospect of surgery very scary. I put it off for 5 years, running from numerous consultations – not feeling comfortable. A friend recommended Dr. Klein and I called or an emergency appt. I went in later that day, had consultation ( which he took soooo much time to explain everything in laymans terms and did not rush me at all), and had the surgery I had been dreading. He made it easy. I trusted him 100%, his bedside manner was the best I’ve seen in a long time. He even took the time to go over insurance concerns and cost in detail. So here I sit waiting for my ride to pick me up, still a little loopy from the meds, in a bit of pain, but 100% happy. I will be coming to Dr. Klein for many years to come.

Dr Klein extracted my two bottom wisdom teeth. He explained the process in plain English before we started, and was honest about the potential rare risks and side effects. I had no complications, so I guess that means he did a good job! The follow-up appointment a week later (to remove the stitches – he doesn’t use the dissolvable kind) was also smooth sailing. Staff is average in terms of customer service – haven’t had any billing trouble yet…

When it comes to removing teeth, three things are important to me, how fast it’s done, whether it’s painless and how professional the staff is explaining the procedure. Dr Ward gets five stars for all three. My wisdom tooth was out in about 10 seconds (I am not exaggerating), I felt nothing and the procedure was nicely detailed beforehand. The wait was a bit long, but I’d rather wait for an hour and have the tooth taken out in seconds than the other way around 🙂
